Poetry Pantry #356

Manchester, England - Town Hall

Greetings again, Poets.  And, Sherry, thank you for carrying on with Poetry Pantry so well while I was away.  I am sure that I missed a lot of wonderful poetry....but hopefully now I will be back and reading your words once again.

I am sure you will enjoy reading the feature Sherry has for us on Monday.  She is featuring  a poet who is very new to Poets United.  He is from India, and as I am writing this I am struck by the fact that India definitely has a lot of wonderful poets who share with Poets United.  Come back and read his story.

Wednesday, Susan's prompt is Ocean(s). This prompt at the moment makes me think of climate change and how the oceans are indeed becoming warmer.  We all need to do something about climate change, to preserve our arctic, our icebergs, etc.  I think there are many approaches we can take to the subject of oceans this week.

If you haven't already, do read Rosemary's very moving article on the Manchester poet Tony Walsh.  Rosemary has a gift of choosing the most timely topics for her "I Wish I'd Written This" features, doesn't she?

With no delay, let's share poetry. Link your poem below. Stop in and say hello.  Comment on the poems of others.  See you on the trail!

  2. Thank you, dear Mary. Yes, Sherry has held the fort beautifully and we're all grateful – and now it's good to welcome you back again. The splendid Manchester Cathedral is a good choice of photo.

  11. Mary, it is WONDERFUL to welcome you back, and Sumana, as well, from her travels. I am late as always, though it is early morning on the farm. I turned the horse out to pasture, fed the animals and watered all the flowers against the coming heat. Now for tea and poetry.
