Very nice to meet you Gemma and find out more about another accomplished poet ...and how wonderful that you got to go to, and loved, the Tyrell - a museum in Alberta, my home province ... my grandson Jack is all about dinosaurs and I'm hoping when we get back from Europe, we can all go there and see some of their more recent acquisitions and updates ... again, a really wonderful read. I had a Mum who was hung up on appearances (though not as strict as yours), I was a shy, dreamy child who spent many hours on a swing my Dad made me....

Lovely to 'meet' you, Gemma. Gemma, the writers' retreat is a BRILLIANT idea.......perhaps one could begin in a campground setting, and modestly? The eco retreat idea is also a good one. If you have solid pre-bookings, with a cancellation penalty, and a minimum numbr of required bookings, it just might work. I love the way you weave spirituality and writing - perhaps that could be your angle. I wish I had money! I'd come!!!!Sherry Blue Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10769154286598233146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-89184223602127586202012-06-28T10:50:19.697-04:002012-06-28T10:50:19.697-04:00A great interview! I meet people that otherwise would never ever enter into my consciousness. Your story of a childhood of imposed austere 'aloness'is one that is relatable to me ot in the austere imposition aspect but in the 'aloneness', in my case one of abandonment. This taught me the acceptance of the richness of solitude. I too, will be visiting your blog: AuraGem's as time permits

Gracias mi amiga Sherry and thank you Gemma for sharing your worldMarcoantonio Arellano (Nene)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10713672589582754484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-20963086696466962012012-06-28T08:04:54.466-04:002012-06-28T08:04:54.466-04:00Susan ~ Strange you mention a writer's retreat...Susan ~ Strange you mention a writer's retreat! That was an old dream when I had a beautiful property to offer as a setting in Tasmania! Now? I don't know! There are beautiful venues on my peninsula. One is called Hummingbird ~ an eco retreat not far from me. I too had a calling to teach, and loved seeing the "light in their eyes." Retired now, I'm reaching into writing as if trying on new clothing. These are very inspiring words, "My dream is now. May it linger."

I now imagine visiting you on the ocean, a retreat accompanied by sharing and challenges and peace and ocean and critique and walking.
