The poem is dense and your written material is dense with detail...all making me think about the current situation in the world today when so many are watching the craziness in Washington. We do need to consider our positions on what the leaders of our country do in our name.... Indeed we have to focus on the small things we have control over & make our feelings known loud and clear about what we strongly disagree with. I think often of that s/word of Jesus and the God who guided him. I believe it is pointed at me as Jesus' fate pointed at him. It is the challenge without which we may become placid, but with it we become our true selves, a creating force. In his Letters to a Young Poet, Rilke points out that just because he may bring his friend peace doesn't mean he is at peace--paraphrase--you'll know the words in one of his letter's closings. I have just begun to celebrate Easter--it's been 5 years now. It to me is a Terror. It becomes a terrible beauty born when we think that is God itself in the form of "his son" sacrificing ITSELF!--a parable for the human race. No father would willingly send his son (daughter, too?) to death--not in the Old or New Testament, not in Ireland, and, I hope, not here and now. Have a happy weekend. You have made mine happier by tying this all together.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05723639294340760325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-30400977555796209892017-04-14T17:56:04.505-04:002017-04-14T17:56:04.505-04:00Thanks Myrna. I do believe that the energy of each of us shifts the energy of the whole in that direction, so when we can create what we want in our own lives we are also putting a little more of that into the planet. It is very hard at present not to feel fear, anger, even hatred and despair, in the face of world events – yet those are the very things we need, more than ever, to avoid.Rosemary Nissen-Wadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05913841031559499568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-90972899860144420272017-04-14T12:18:39.832-04:002017-04-14T12:18:39.832-04:00Rosemary, I appreciate your thoughts, which to me ...Rosemary, I appreciate your thoughts, which to me are inspirational, rational and spiritual. I think we must find peace in our individual lives and hope our peaceful, happy energy radiates enough to create some healing in ourselves and the world. Thank you for this poem and essay. Well done! Loved the poem, so lyrical. And we are perhaps now the farthest from peace we have ever been, to a frightening degree.Sherry Blue Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01926508656571639801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-32613951865160251412017-04-14T09:31:57.229-04:002017-04-14T09:31:57.229-04:00Thank you for the post Rosemary.
