"We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one"
~Jacques Cousteau
Water everywhere and not a drop to drink. I don’t know offhand who said this but it’s a pretty eye opening statement. It makes you think. When you read the word water what comes to mind? What do you think of? Is it that Evian is backwards for naïve? Is it the deserts without the water of life? It could possibly be the rain falling from a warm summer sky. I’m sure water makes all of our minds race so we cannot wait to see what “Flows” from your pens and minds this week.
This week’s prompt, quote and photo was provided to us by Nino Taziz. Thank you Nino for an inspiring prompt and helping us out here at Poets United.
If you would like to know more about Nino please visit the blog below:
If you have a prompt idea that you would like to suggest or share with us please send it to poetsunited@ymail.com . We keep a folder set aside with all your suggestions and just might use it one day.
Do not forget to comment after posting.
That was a fun one to write.
BalasPadamWonderful prompt...many thanks to Nino for the suggestion! Can't wait to read everyone's submissions...
BalasPadamOkay I cheated, but Song of the River is ALL about water. Some of you may have already read it, apologies........I will try to write a new one later today, but have to wash the car first - more water!
BalasPadam..just posted a watersong - then saw the prompt - and thought i'd link up….
BalasPadamThat line is from the classic poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
BalasPadamI love this idea for a prompt Nino Taziz! Look forward to reading everyone's take on it! :-)
BalasPadamWell, if a downpour isn't rain, I don't know what is. Just posted my poem: After the Rain.
BalasPadamI wrote the poem first, and then by chance, stumbled upon the prompt.
BalasPadamThis is an old one but came to mind as soon as I read the prompt. I may do another if the inspiration strikes. :-)
BalasPadamPS. I have a new blog now just for writing from prompts!
I thought I would write something a bit different so I wrote a shape poem. It is the first time I have ever tried anything like this! I enjoyed the prompt thanks.
BalasPadamI absolutely love the ocean! That's why I had an Ocean Affair, LOL.

BalasPadamWater have advantages and disadvantages, every thing in this world have both sides:D~
BalasPadamI thought I'd left a comment earlier but I'm new to blogging and I'm obviously not waiting long enough with the verification thing!
BalasPadamIt's my first poem and it's been such a pleasure to join in and meet everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome x
Water can have its downside, too. Look at Pakistan's floods...
BalasPadami hope water also means rain... :)
BalasPadambut i love water and the way it flows and finds its path through all terrain to reach the sea... an amazing symphony!

BalasPadamMaya Just let me know whic one you need removed by number and I can play with Mr Lynky
BalasPadamReally liked this topic, I approached it...somewhat...with personification. Hope you all enjoy.
BalasPadamRobert,
BalasPadamYou ask us to leave a comment when we submit our poem. I did so this week when I submitted my poem Liquid Gold.
I do not see my comment posted and wondered if there was any reason why?
The comments are a useful way, of also understanding what may have been behind, individual poetry prompt responses.
I have sent you some messages with regard to my Blog of the week award etc. I just wonder if I am using the correct 'addresses' to reach you.
Best wishes, Eileen
Eileen I do not know why your comment hasnt shown up. There is none in my que. I usually aprove all comments at least 3 times daily so it could have been a glitch of some sort. As for your messages I am playing catchup and may have overlooked them in my inbox I will check here this morning. Glad to have you back from your vacation although I am jealous you went lol.
