Poetry Pantry - #112

The Poetry Pantry
2nd Chance Poems or 1st time shares

Anything goes!! All Poems, all Poets, All Week!!

Do you have a poem you would like to share? Something that you just felt inspired to write and want others to read. Perhaps it’s a poem that didn’t get as much exposure on your blog as you would have liked. Maybe it’s a poem that you wrote a long time ago that you would like people to revisit. That’s what this section of Poets United is for.

Each Sunday we start a new post with a New Mr. Linky for you. This is so that you can post a link to anything you want us to read, anything at all related to poetry found on your own poetry blogs.  Link a specific POEM.  I will be leaving Mr. Linky open until 11 p.m. (central) Monday night for posting your link; but you can visit other linkers after that time. If you are one of the later ones to post your link, it is helpful for you to make the rounds of others who have posted previously....and hopefully those who have linked earlier will then return visits to you.  I truly believe in the power and the joy of community here at Poets United.

There 3 simple rules:

1. Don’t link to more than 1 poem.  If you link more than one, anything after #1 will be removed.

2. Please visit several other poems linked here when you link to yours. Please
don't just link and run, waiting for others to visit you.  That's no fun.  I notice people who post in Poetry Pantry are becoming VERY good at visiting others.  That makes us all feel good.

3. Leave a comment after you have posted
your link.  I find that people who leave comments tend to be more participatory.  They wish to be part of the community.  A little of this goes a long way.  It feels good for all.

  5. Forgive my not posting until morning.... Some eerie doings in trying to post this early morning...resulting in an hour and a half of rewriting - reposting - respacing - replacing photos - as I commented on my own blog ARGGGGGGH.. and now to sleep with apologies for not commenting per usual immediately after my own posting. Until tomorrow :)

  7. Trying to explore poetry variations - other than haiku - while I have some time on a rainy weekend!

  8. Good morning! I hope everyone has a great day. Down here in Florida we are in for a rainy few days and I can think of no better way to spend the days then reading and writing poetry.

The poem I linked this week is one that I wrote and posted just before I went on vacation earlier this month. I feel like I neglected it by running off to have fun - How dare I! So I'm giving it a true second chance.

  14. I just read Jack's poem and I had a lot to say about it... I thought it was amazing. But I'm not able to leave a comment on his site. Some of you have the rest of the available choices on the dropdown (like the one on this site) box cut off. If you notice, there's an open space between OpenID and Name/URL... and on some the Name/URL is not available, which leaves me unable (sadly) to leave a comment. I'm not sure if that's done on purpose or not... but Jack, I loved your poem!

  15. Mary,

I have posted a newly composed poem, which has been heavily influenced by my own medical problem of living with paraesthesia (pins and needles) every moment of every day.I have great difficulty writing at times, which is annoying.
However, I persist and try to overcome this nuisance by remaining part of this Poets United community.
I too shall endeavour to repay vists made to my Blog, when I can.
    Happy Sunday,
    Eileen

    1. Eileen, you must be going through a hard time. I'm so glad you have the outlet of poetry and of blogging to help keep the creative self alive, vital... it's helpful with chronic illnesses, and I'm manic depressive, etc. Peace, Amy

  16. Thanks for the prompt Mary and all at PU. Have a great Sunday everyone.

  17. Oh my, it is only 9:30 where I am, and the pantry's been open for nine hours. I shall have my coffee and then post. Happy Sunday, all!

  19. Hi everyone! If you are one of the later posters, if you want comments on your poem, best you be the one to initiate visits. I know I will visit anyone who visits my blog and I think a lot of others will too. If you post Monday, you really need to be the one who makes the initiative......and please, if someone visits you, give THEM a return visit. It IS about community, which is a two-way street.

  20. Don't forget to click the links within my poem for extra fun. :)

  21. Mary,

I really enjoy contributing to The Pantry, but somehow I am losing my enthusiasm and may curb my interest. There are a significant number of poems posted, but there remains a core of writers who never visit my blog at all. Some are writers whom I introduced to Poest United a few years ago.
I appreciate comments and will reciprocate, but sometimes it is a very weary process, when it is a one-way process.

    1. I am sorry about your experience, Eileen, and I do hope you will continue participating in the Pantry. I always look forward to your poem; and I am sure there are others who do too.

  22. After a six month pause due to a horrible time at work (which continues, but should be responded to positively rather than suffered in silence, I decided rather belatedly while on holiday) I've returned to writing. Here is a poem prompted by the standing stones near where we stayed.

  23. I've got to thank Sherry for saying "Put it in the Pantry." I had forgotten that the pantry was part of United! So I am glad to be here, a day late. Sometimes I wonder what will happen when I REALLY get old! Have a great Monday folks.

  24. Good day, I don't know the problem of deleting my link to my first contribution, but doesn't matter I have posted another. Happy reading.
