Poetry Heals
~ Excerpted from Poetic Medicine: The Healing Art of Poem-Making

Good one.......so let me see what i can come up with......
BalasPadamHi Lasha, read your poem. It beautifully describes the emotions , pain, sadness, happiness, when we sit down to pour them on a piece of paper. Lovely!!!!
PadamLasha, I dont know how to comment on your site without doing that google chrome profile thing. But I enjoyed your poem and your enthusiasm for poetry. Whatever our feelings, poetry is such a good way to explore them.
PadamIndeed poetry has a healing touch. When emotions are high, it comes out so well.
BalasPadamI am posting a poem that I had written for my best friend. My friend was not well and i just wanted to take all the suffering and pain and give soothing, healing touch in return. Do, here it is. " If I Could."
Looking forward for poems from fellow members too....
I agree that poetry can be so healing, great prompt.
BalasPadamThank you for the prompt which pushed me to finally share this one. I did have to juggle a couple of words to bring it to the 100 word cap.
BalasPadamKim, you set the BEST prompts! Thought-provoking and challenging ones, but not at all intimidating or daunting. This one is brilliant. My only problem being to choose one thing out of a kazillion possibilities. I am looking forward to reading all of the responses.
BalasPadamworked on a little poetic healing of sorts this week.
BalasPadamHey Kim.. Thanks for this prompt.. I wrote this poem a week back, about a homeless girl I came across... your words just gave me the courage to post it.. thanks..!
BalasPadamLovely prompt that is so true...
BalasPadamIntriguing Kim...
BalasPadamI love this idea
:D
My good friends... the day is half gone and I've only now gotten to my computer. I shall visit all of you before Friday. In the meantime, I ought to write to my own prompt!~
BalasPadamGreat prompt! Poetry does heal, for sure!!
BalasPadamThat was a wonderful prompt, Kim. It's late tonight, tomorrow I shall come back to read the entries...:)thanks!!
BalasPadamKim,
BalasPadamI have been on holiday to Northern Ireland to visit relatives. Not enough time to write during the past few weeks. Hopefully the sight of some sunshine here will enable inspiration to flow!!!
That thought, prompted my offering this week. Apparently a mere 92 words, excluding title etc:)
I shall visit and reciprocate comments to other poems, asap.
Eileen
Words can be a balm or they can be like sandpaper. The visual I had was sandpaper, seagulls fighting so I went at the painful expression that can come out/ hopefully healing before its too late
BalasPadamGood prompt, Kim. Thank you!
BalasPadamI got TWO poems out of your prompt, Kim. This is a timely topic for me. Thank you!
BalasPadamI'll be back to read others in the next few days.
PadamTied to heal with my poetry a lot of times. It comes naturally. Poetry and healing. :)
BalasPadamFrom my heart - Thank you for the prompt.
BalasPadamThanks KIm! for the prompt. Quite apt for me now. Had it not been for this wonderful forum....I will come back
BalasPadamKim, what an inspiring prompt! These weren't just poems, but writers sharing such personal stories with the use of your prompt! Thank you!
BalasPadamI just discovered this blogroll and I think I'm going to enjoy it. There are so many talented and enthusiastic poets here.
BalasPadamGreat prompt.... yes, that what poetry is!
BalasPadamI've got an old one that fits the bill. (Sssh! I'm cheating — it's one word too long, but I can't find one word I want to remove.)
BalasPadamFinally! I sold my house this week, so have had few spare moments. Writing this felt good!
BalasPadamBeautiful idea! It's very liberating to write about a personal experience. Just added mine.
