Maybe it's because my poems often have the same tone. Bless him, he has sight and insight. I blurred in the first stanza here, entered my own zone of finding it hard to have hope, and put the rest of the poem away to read later. I'm looking forward to it, like a last piece of pie saved for tomorrow.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05723639294340760325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-5782967115577865032017-01-07T06:36:53.075-05:002017-01-07T06:36:53.075-05:00wonderful litany of a life well lived. it is this ...wonderful litany of a life well lived. it is this being the place you're in that makes one, become. It was the devoted work of years. And of course had flow-on effects, attracting native birds and bees and other wildlife.Rosemary Nissen-Wadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05913841031559499568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139625267522039683.post-29512246583669615242017-01-06T14:53:12.068-05:002017-01-06T14:53:12.068-05:00Isn't that third stanza amazing? It makes me think of how effective people can be, in their own particular places, when they decide to save whole seeds, for example, like the woman in India who sparked a movement....and the man in his island home, planting trees in the thousands over the years. We had a man here on Vancouver Island, Merv Wilkinson, who spent his years managing a sustainable forest, to prove it could be done profitably, without destroying the forest. I love Berry's exhortation to love the place that is ours. Loved this poem. Blessings.Sherry Blue Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10769154286598233146noreply@blogger.com
