Poetry Blog of the Week - (15 November 2010) Beauty in the Darkness

Written by Larry Patterson

“Whether you walk your path in total darkness or blazing light you are equally blind. But blend the two into balanced portions and your path becomes much clearer,” a direct quotation from Colorado poet and creator of Beauty in the Darkness, Looksfar. Looksfar, a rather interesting name with much meaning, and to better describe the meaning behind it there is a submission titled, Looking Far. A recent blogger, Looksfar emerged onto the scene mid September, sharing much of his work since then. With a sleek and smooth design, Looksfar has created a dark and serene place for poetry, offering a quiet and solemn retreat.

Exploring a wide variety of topics, and on different levels and observations, this poetry blog has a lot to offer. Through each post, the poet guides us through, on a clear path, towards the beauty inside the darkness. While perusing the site (and admiring the image of Anubis sitting comfortably in the background), The Hope of Love caught much attention and is one of many profound ventures in this blog. Beauty in the Darkness is not without a good scare and some post Halloween fun, as portrayed in Looksfar’s most recent post, Love and Blood. There is much beauty inside the darkness, as this poet strives so often to show us.

There are so many journeys out of “words from the ancient past” to be had at Beauty in the Darkness, and any venture made, will be a most informative and enjoyable one as well as a balanced one. We hope you enjoy visiting this blog.

  1. Larry, EXCELLENT choice for blog of the week. I first came upon Beauty in the Darkness when Looksfar wrote a very moving and beautiful tribute to his sister. Have followed him ever since. Looksfar, you write so beautifully, and I love reading about your soul's journey. Looking forward to following along:)I am a big fan!
