Greetings, Poets!
Glad to see each of you here this week. Hope you each had a poetic week & also will share one of your poems here. It is always fun to get to know you through your poetry; and I hope you feel the same. The photo above is probably the last one I will post from Disney World. It was taken at the resort, and these little ducks were very brave and trusting walking among the guests. Obviously people had fed them, so they were not put off by humans. The ducks I see near home here keep as far away from humans as they can.
Come back a few times on Sunday and Monday to see what's new. Visit some strangers, and they will become new friends! Making new friends and reading new poetry, what more could one want?
Also, don't forget to visit Poets United other days of the week. For example, every Wednesday Kim posts a new "Verse First" prompt. Hope you will join us there as well! Sherry Blue Sky does a feature (it varies) on Monday, and Rosemary Nissen-Wade does "I Wish I'd Written This" every Friday!
If you are on Facebook, look for us there as well. Join our site. It is one more way to stay in touch!
And now...here is the procedure, for those who are new here: Each Sunday we start a new post with a New Mr. Linky for you. This is so that you can post a link to a poem in your blog. The link will close Monday at 12:00 p.m. (CDT), but you can still visit the links of those who have posted them.
Enjoy!
I posted one of my older poems this time, which is included in my poetry book Where the Opium Cactus Grows.
ReplyDeleteI'm experimenting with blogging on my Facebook page instead of on my blog, I think I get more interactivity that way. So the poem is on a 'note' at my FB page.
Hi Nissa, I personally prefer the separation of Facebook and blogs. Since you do have a blog, really it would be easier that way. I personally don't comment on FB share here in the poetry blogosphere.
DeleteNissa, my experience is that the environments are as different as the participants are. I use FB, but my mindset is very different there than when I'm reading blogs. I link up to FB but I actually read poets on their blogs or in communities. FB is more a space to catch links or info I've missed otherwise. Would be interested to know if you connect with readers there.
DeleteI, too, connect to Facebook only for "distribution" of poems. Hard to get back and see what folks said, though... prefer them to click the link and see the poem in its natural state.
DeleteThere are poets, like Adrian Giannini, who post exclusively to FB, and that's OK, because then I log in and troll a bit, but I put on a timer for 30 min. so I don't get lost in trivialand....! I do connect with readers there, though.
Thanks for the opportunity to share a piece this Sunday. Mine is a free verse sonnet from my archives.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, everyone. Really enjoy reading everyone's writings!
ReplyDeletegood morning...happy sunday...appreciate you mary
ReplyDeleteIt's a leisure day, I hope many will enjoy a day of blog hopping, reading and commenting.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying reading what you have shared so far...I always find the 'pantry' filled with scrumptious treats!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday everyone ~
ReplyDeleteGrace
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI posted a poem written for the dverse "puzzle" prompt. It's more of a "puzzlement," as Yul Brynner said in "The King and I"! Happy Sunday to all... off to church. I feel like I'm cheating, ha ha, posting before praise band! Amy
ReplyDeleteHi Mary - this such a delightful invitation filled with warmth and love - gosh who wouldn't want to post here. Sending hugs and feeling "human" for a change. Hope you had a grand 4th. Liz
ReplyDeleteMine is from Hannah's Real Toad's prompt. I am trying to live without praise, so have disable comments, but my email is available if you want to talk with me. I'm delighted to participate here at Poets United Sunday through Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part, Susan; I do hope you will enable comments again, as I enjoy commenting in blogs. So much easier than thinking about writing an email. Hopefully this will be a short lived thing for you.
DeleteHi Susan--I always learn from your work--so hopefully, my comments to you move beyond the praise factor and into the work itself--A
