Poetry Pantry #157





Greetings, Poets!  

Glad to see each of you here this week. Hope you each had a poetic week & also will share one of your poems here.  It is always fun to get to know you through your poetry; and I hope you feel the same. The photo above is probably the last one I will post from Disney World.  It was taken at the resort, and these little ducks were very brave and trusting walking among the guests.  Obviously people had fed them, so they were not put off by humans.  The ducks I see near home here keep as far away from humans as they can.

This is one of my favorite spaces to post.  I hope you look forward to it too.  Link your ONE poem.   Then leave a comment below. Then visit other poets.  And I will too.  (If I miss your poem, visit me, and I will visit you... I am like anyone else, appreciating reciprocity.) We ALL like comments, so if you link please DO spend time visiting others.  That is part of the fun as well.  We really like it if you link back to Poets United too, so we spread the Poetry Pantry word in the blogosphere.

Come back a few times on Sunday and Monday to see what's new.  Visit some strangers, and they will become new friends!  Making new friends and reading new poetry, what more could one want?

Also, don't forget to visit Poets United other days of the week.  For example, every Wednesday Kim posts a new "Verse First" prompt.  Hope you will join us there as well!  Sherry Blue Sky does a feature (it varies) on Monday, and Rosemary Nissen-Wade does "I Wish I'd Written This" every Friday!

If you are on Facebook, look for us there as well. Join our site.  It is one more way to stay in touch!

    I posted one of my older poems this time, which is included in my poetry book Where the Opium Cactus Grows.

    I'm experimenting with blogging on my Facebook page instead of on my blog, I think I get more interactivity that way. So the poem is on a 'note' at my FB page.

      Hi Nissa, I personally prefer the separation of Facebook and blogs. Since you do have a blog, really it would be easier that way. I personally don't comment on FB share here in the poetry blogosphere.

      Nissa, my experience is that the environments are as different as the participants are. I use FB, but my mindset is very different there than when I'm reading blogs. I link up to FB but I actually read poets on their blogs or in communities. FB is more a space to catch links or info I've missed otherwise. Would be interested to know if you connect with readers there.

      I, too, connect to Facebook only for "distribution" of poems. Hard to get back and see what folks said, though... prefer them to click the link and see the poem in its natural state.

      There are poets, like Adrian Giannini, who post exclusively to FB, and that's OK, because then I log in and troll a bit, but I put on a timer for 30 min. so I don't get lost in trivialand....! I do connect with readers there, though.

    I posted a poem written for the dverse "puzzle" prompt. It's more of a "puzzlement," as Yul Brynner said in "The King and I"! Happy Sunday to all... off to church. I feel like I'm cheating, ha ha, posting before praise band! Amy

    am still new to all this and just joined so i kinda dont exactly know how am supposed to share th poems on my blog, but still, its amazing seeing so many poets in one place :)
