Welcome to Verse First, where simple notions prompt amazing poems.

APPETITE
APPETITE
It's July 3rd. On this day in 1908, MFK Fisher (one of my favorite writers) was born. Fisher wrote about life and lessons and love and lust, all while claiming to write about food. She had an appetite for living large and living well. Appetite. What images does the word conjure in your mind? Write about it, then refine it, and then share it with us.
Can't wait to see where your appetite takes you. ~ Kim

I haven't read any of her writing but just put two books on hold at the library! Looking forward to reading them! Thanks for sharing!
BalasPadamwhat a prompt...Kim...
BalasPadamthank you increasing our appetite!
PT,
PadamI could not leave a comment at your poem, so I am leaving it here...
A poem which is brimming with all the ingredients of true love:)
Eileen
I think I wrote a comedy. I nearly called it Independence Day. Thanks for MFK Fisher. The appetite I speak of has only to do with food for advancing thought.
BalasPadamSorry to confuse you Mary, Brian, Kim, etc--I realized as soon as I posted it that my little poem wasn't ready for consumption., Comedy is harder for me, go figure. So I withdrew it and reworked this longer one to the point.
PadamPlease, if it is possible, remove the first "Susan" from the Linky? Thank you.
PadamDone, Susan!
Padam...thanks for the prompt Kim... mine is served hot... just freshly released from oven... aww... smiles...
BalasPadamThe prompt reminded me of a piece I wrote several weeks ago but never posted. Appetites can be dangerous things, or life altering elements.

Kim,
BalasPadamI had so many weird and wonderful concoctions running through my mind...Loved the freedom with this prompt!!!
Eileen
Hi Eileen...always enjoy reading your words.
PadamAm running late, as ever, kids....but made the rounds and loved what you all served up :)
BalasPadamThank you for the prompt, and i had to re-write this one.
BalasPadamI have read everyone's now. Nice work. Hope to see some more.
BalasPadamI know I am late. But, couldn't help writing for this enticing prompt. Thanks Kim..Hope you guys read me...:)Thanks :)
BalasPadamUnlike Fisher, I don't even claim to write about food... ;)
BalasPadamThere are various kinds of appetites, and all may be voracious. I am sharing an old and, in its day, notorious piece about one kind of hunger.
BalasPadamAn yes, I too shall have to hunt up M.K. Fisher!
