Verse First ~ I Cried Out

Verse First ~ I Cried Out

Welcome to Verse First, where simple notions prompt amazing poems.
Today's notion?

I CRIED OUT

Write in the first person. Avoid cliches; eschew the ordinary. Surprise, inspire, educate, elucidate. That's it. That's all I'm giving you poet-friends. Now write me a poem. ;-)

  1. ...i most often than not write in first person... it's like as if i am in an acting workshop & i am internalizing a situation or character given to me ... smiles... thank you Kim... today, i'm venturing some time writing found poetry using poems of the great dead poets with the goal of giving my own flavour... so, for now i'm sharing a gem i found in Carl Sandburg's poem 'Fog'... smiles...

  13. The truth is, I wrote "Another Story" for Poets United, and then read the brief instructions which I had ignored: First person and all of the bursts of pleasure following. So I removed the link. But for the curious (and especially Kim), here it is: http://susanspoetry.blogspot.com/2013/08/another-story.html
