“If you want
to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will
have treasure in heaven.” — Jesus Christ

“Bad
things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of
my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity
of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most
precious gift I have – life itself.”— Walter Anderson
Midweek Motif ~
Treasure
Today
you are to write about that which you treasure most in your life. It might be a
moment, a person, a relationship, a dream, a pet, your family, your life, a
poem or whatever you think most valuable to you.
Here’s
a treasure poem for you:
The Treasure
by Rupert Brooke
When
colour goes home into the eyes,
And
light that shines are shut again,
With
dancing girls and sweet birds’ cries
Behind
the gateways of the brain;
Still
Time may hold some golden space
Where
I’ll unpack that scented store
Of
song and flower and sky and face,
And
count and touch and turn them o’er,
Musing
upon them; as a mother who
Has
watched her children all the rich day through
Sits,
quiet-handed, in the fading light,
When
children sleep, ere night.
