Poetry Blog of the Week (9, August 2010) - Words and Thoughts

Words and Thoughts - Fulfilling a dream isn’t that what poetry is? If poetry does not fulfill a dream then it at a minimum has to create one I would imagine. One way or another, this is being accomplished by Eileen T O’Neill and her poetry blog “Words and Thoughts.” Eileen’s blog is a pleasant and calming place to stop in and visit. Her poetry is reality captured in its simplest and purest form. Her layout is not a flashy and neither is her style. Those who read “Words and Thoughts” do so because they enjoy and have come to expect Eileen’s authentic and openly honest approach to poetry.

Her poetry has a genuine and heartfelt quality to it. This is best displayed when reading her poem “Without Him…” With this short and simple poem she shares with her readers the idea of how a person struggles to be a complete person without their significant other. It’s not to say you are forever dependant but more so that the comfort of another creates a longing in their absence.

Eileen shares with her readers many other well placed personal moments through her poetry. As she continues to accomplish her dream of writing she gives all the opportunity to join in her in this pursuit. Stop on by “Words and Thoughts,” while there you may very well inspired to pursue some of your very own dreams.

Each week at Poets United we try to introduce our members and readers to a poetry blog found here in our community. We introduce each blog by giving a small snippet about the poet responsible for hosting this blog and the style of the blog. We also link to at least one of our favorite poems that can be found in the highlighted poet’s blog. Poets United is about reading, writing and enjoying one another’s poetry and this just one more way to show our support for one another. We hope you enjoy reading the highlighted blogs.

  6. Robert and Poets United Friends,
I want to thank you so very much, for even considering my blog, to be worthy of a Poetry Blog of the Week award.
I am on holiday, but managed to connect my laptop this evening.
I can only say how grateful I am not only to you, for your words of support to me, but also for your idea of forming Poets United.
You have done a wonderful job of creating a Poetry Blog community, which is growing, but also retains a sense of 'poetry family'.
I also need to thank my Poets United Friends, who are all so supportive not only to me, but towards each other.
I think it is amazing, that I can sit here in a hotel in France and enjoy the praises, of such wonderful friends, worldwide.
I thank you all, so much.
    Best wishes,
    Eileen
