"When the sun rises, it rises for everyone"
~unknown
It seems that we as a people always struggle for equality in one way or another. Those struggles for equality are presented to us everyday on varying scales. It can be a simple as two children fighting for a mother’s attention or it can be as life changing as the Civil Rights Movement in the 60’s. Today’s topic has a slightly political undertone to it, but you do not have to go that route. Explore what the idea of equality means to you and write with inspiration. We are as always equally excited to read your poems.
Our prompt this week was suggested by Robert Cameron Hazleton (aka Bob). Bob in turn was inspired by an email he received for a blogger challenge issued to him from the equality blog and he decided to share with us.
"We are challenging bloggers around the world to write a blog post about diversity and equality. There are no rules or restrictions. Write a serious post. Write a poem. Take a photograph. Do whatever moves you and you think will inspire others."Our prompt this week was suggested by Robert Cameron Hazleton (aka Bob). Bob in turn was inspired by an email he received for a blogger challenge issued to him from the equality blog and he decided to share with us.
Bob will be letting them know that we at Poets United have decided to meet that challenge. If you would like to learn more about Bob or read his poetry you can do so by visiting his blog Average Poet
If you have a prompt idea that you would like to suggest or share with us please send it to poetsunited@ymail.com . We keep a folder set aside with all your suggestions and just might use it one day.
There 3 simple rules:
1. Don’t link to more than 2 poems per week.
2. Please visit some of the other poems linked here when you link to yours.
3. Leave a comment after you have posted your link.
