There are whispers of romance, our explorations in space, and the effect on humans. Have you seen the effect? I use to work in a hospital, Admissions Dept. You would be amazed, how many babies are born on a full moon. The gravitational pull of Earth's tides is affected. What about the water in our bodies? My Mom doesn't plant her garden, till after the last full moon in May. So many mysteries surround the moon. I would love you to pen a poem about Lunar's light, widely known as the moon. If you need more inspiration, just look out your window tonight~

Beautiful prompt! I've written quite a few poems on this. Linking three of them. Thanks!:)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this. She's one of my favorite muses. :)
ReplyDeleteBeing Cancer (star sign) the lady moon is one of my most favourite things to write about. Thanks for the prompt!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't seem to comment on your site, but I love your poem, and seeing from both sides.
DeleteDusted off an old one that I like....love this prompt!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I'm sure most of us have written about the moon, but I hadn't. I also was motivated by there really being a Full Moon tonight! There are so many ways to write about this subject. I figured you all would have something to share! Thanks for being so kind~
ReplyDeleteI'm noticing something...poet's are suckers for moonlight;) Love it! I had many oldie moon-songs but these gorgeous photos and poems inspired another!
ReplyDeleteI haven't participated beyond visiting the Creators of the wondrous images you presented for further inspiration Ella...
ReplyDeleteTheir artistry is overwhelmingly beautiful. I had a memorable time.
The Moon's beauty is inspirational in all its phases.
A wonderful prompt to think upon, thank you.
The moon has been egging me on to escape to the night and play! Beautiful images, Ella ~ thank you ~ smiles!
ReplyDeleteA real oldie from me: my goodness, almost twelve years old! How did that happen?..
ReplyDeleteI linked up a triolet...what a terrific prompt!
ReplyDeleteA timely prompt Ella!
ReplyDeleteProbably the most on-topic I've been with a think tank thursday, although this a poem about the moon I wrote a few weeks ago :-)
ReplyDeleteMy first attempt at a triolet, thanks to Dave King for the inspiration. Btw, this is the Full Crow Moon, a time when pursued dreams may be realized - good luck!
ReplyDeleteMine is about the problems I have with the moon... sleep, being startled awake. A different take on the prompt, I suppose, but thank you for it, because last night I was outside to witness a full, silver moon. I waved hello. Amy
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! Mine is up.
ReplyDeleteI second Sara McNulty's comment ! :) Beautiful photos of the moon :) Mine are up as well. Although my image seems to still be trapped within an alarmed black triangle!
ReplyDeleteDOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I AM TRAPPED IN A BLACK TRIANGLE WHEN COMMENTING ON CERTAIN THREADS??? MY PHOTO APPEARS ON THE LEFT... I EMAILED GRAVATAR AND PERHAPS THEY CAN HELP... AS OF THIS EVENING I AM APPEARING INCOGNITO WHEN COMMENTING ON MY OWN BLOG! YIKES!
ReplyDeleteHello all ~ my first time posting here ~ I look forward to reading some of your poetry too!
ReplyDeleteNot a very successful attempt, to be honest. It seems I started to wear off, just like my lyrical character :-)
ReplyDeleteGone to some reading!
I know I've written about Luna numerous times but this is the only poem I could lay my hands on right now ...
ReplyDeletewhat's better than the moon?
ReplyDeleteAnd yet another blog of mine to try and add here, and another moon poem so what better place to try and do this ... "The Moon is Cresting the Horizon" can be found on one of my oldest blogs, THE LEAPING ELEPHANTS at this url:
