Photos of Japan
By Totomai Martinez
Autumn Lake in Yamanashi, Japan
"This is my favorite autumn photo that I took. I can still remember the time I went around
this lake and almost forgot to take photos because I was in awe."
|
Sakura at Meguro, Tokyo, Japan
"Another cherry blossoms pic. I decided to include this, as night viewing
of cherry blossoms are very popular in Tokyo area."
|
Poppies at Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan
"Another spring photo but poppies are also popular in Japan during springtime.
Most tourists think that during spring, only cherry blossoms can be seen in Japan."
|
Hamaorisai at Chigasaki, Japan
"This is how Japanese welcome summer.
It was one of the unique activities I have seen here."
|
Mt. Fuji at Yamanashi, Japan
"I guess Japan series will not be complete if Mt. Fuji
is not included. It’s one of my favorite photos."

Greetings, Poets!
As I mentioned last week, Poets United will be taking a winter break. All will go on as usual this next week, but next Sunday we will have the final Poetry Pantry for 2014. After that at Poets United you will see a holiday message which will remain in place until January 4's Poetry Pantry, when our usual schedule will resume once more!
This week's beautiful photos have been shared by Totomai. Hope you all enjoy them. Stop back at Poets United for Sherry's interview of Totomai on Monday. I know that you will enjoy it! And on Wednesday, you will find another writing opportunity at the Midweek Motif. Here's a hint: The subject this next week will involve music. You will find out more on that day. Smiles. And on Friday, remember to see who Rosemary Nissen-Wade features on "I Wish I Had Written This" or "The Living Dead."
If you are on Facebook, look for us there as well. Join our site. It is one more way to stay in touch!
FYI: The link will close Monday at 12:00 p.m. (CDT), but you can still visit the links of those who have posted.
Wow.. What a wonderful set of pictures.. Each one of them are a piece of poetry. I'm really impressed.
ReplyDeleteI read your poem that you submitted this week, and I was astonished at how well written it was. I really could feel the depravity and the soils of the city life. Kind of reminded me of how New York City used to be back in 30s. Really well written. :)
DeleteThis helped me to breathe freely this morning
DeleteI agree with Bjorn - absolutely beautiful photographs - each one is a piece of poetry (as Bjorn said) each one could be a wonderful poetic prompt :) Thank you for these
ReplyDeleteIncidentally Bjorn - your photographs from last week absolutely blew my mind with their sheer magnificence ...
ReplyDeleteAgree with Bjorn too - excellent images. Also thanks for the opportunity to share here.
ReplyDeleteBeen on night shift, so off to bed now. I will visit other poets on rising and tomorrow morning.
Kind regards.
Anna :o]
Have to concur...these are works of art...beauty seen through an artist's eye and especially the last Totomai....it is my favorite too!
ReplyDeleteamazing beauty captured
ReplyDeleteHi All
ReplyDeleteI am back in Japan, thank God there's no jetlag since it's only one hour time difference between Philippines and Japan. Currently adjusting to the cold weather though.
Hope you will enjoy the photos and will inspire you to visit Japan.
Have a nice week everyone!
I absolutely loved the photos that you have taken and shared with everyone. I too was really amazed by the autumn photo that you had taken. What I really love about Japan though is the unique differences from province to province. I would love to see a photo collage that combines the rural life with the city life of Japan.
DeleteI've always wanted to travel there just to get a good experience outside of my own country for a change. Unfortunately money becomes quite an issue for me nowadays.
Back in the mountains, nestled in the woods with loving, patient, and positive family... not to mention everyone I meet, with smiles and have a positive attitude.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be back in a sane wonderful place. A writer takes his chances when he leaves his cave... beat up, robbed, and displaced... a disgrace... but I left my hat on and found my way back! Thank you for you who left the light on.

Enjoyed your photos totomai
So happy to hear this good news, ZQ. "Home is the place where, when you go there, they have to take you in." Am so happy you have them. Looking foreard to your new poems! You were missed.
DeleteGlad to see you, ZQ. Back in the mountains, nestled with family, seems like a good place to be.
DeleteExquisite photos@! I especially like the first where I see a reflection in the lake behind the autumn leaves. They are all awesome, though, Totomai. Thank you all, Poets United, for your comments on my poem and for leaving greetings here and at each other's sites!
ReplyDeleteTotomai,
ReplyDeleteeye captures the world
suspending the sands of time
gives beauty away
Thank YOU!
So beautiful, Leslie!
DeleteA good Sunday morning (here) to each of you again. Always wonderful to see a sea of faces over at the pantry. Also wonderful to see the comments of those who post here. It is sort of like a morning gathering at the coffee shop when that happens. Remember, if any of you who post here have some photos, do make an inquiry with me. I will be needing some in the new year.
ReplyDeleteTotomai, your pictures are stunning ~ I specially love the river and the Sakura ~
ReplyDeleteI have been away on a study break but I am back now, trying to find my words again ~
Wishing you all Happy Sunday ~
Beautiful photos, I especially like the last one as there is such a deep sense of calmness and peace..a reflective place for the soul. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Totomai 1
ReplyDeleteGreetings, poets. Totomai, your photos are absolutely wonderful. You should have an exhibition and publish a book. I hope you all have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYES! See? I told you you should do a book! Totomai, your photos are poetry captured in landscape. The Mt Fuji shot would make a wonderful art print........each of these is simply glorious. Many thanks!
DeletePressure's on me. Will try this holiday making a photobook
DeleteBrilliant pictures. Loved them.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Totomai, these photos are amazingly beautiful!! Also, good morning to everyone here at the pantry! Good to see that there's going to be lots to read today! I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteWhat the beautiful photos, Totomai! Love the sakura and fall picture, ah thank you for the treat. Happy Sun-Day to all!
ReplyDeleteA lovely feast in here today, my friends......looking forward to diving in. I am feeling slightly nudged out of my torpor - that is a hopeful sign, LOL.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear, Sherry! Hope is the light of the world.
DeleteGreat to se Totomai's photos - your work is beautiful and what a way to end a year
ReplyDeleteI really love landscapes in general, so these pictures were, in my eyes, exceptional! :) I specifically liked the autumn one the most. Might be because I was born in the autumn, but at the same time I enjoy all the magnificent colors that are displayed during this time of year. Very inspirational. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Don't forget to check out my poetry blog if you haven't already.

I post a new poem each day if I can. If I don't post a poem that day, I try to make up for it the following day. Don't forget to email subscribe so that you don't miss out on the newest poems. :)
Hi Kenn, we all enjoy visits to our blogs; and when someone visits my blog I will definitely visit them back. The way to become involved in this community is to start by visiting and commenting on the poems of many others. Before long you will have reciprocity going....and both you AND the other will get to know one another.
DeleteI've noticed that starting to happen quite a bit as of late. It is actually really exciting, but at the same time really stressful. I like responding to everyone's comments and checking out their blogs in return. It is all kinds of fun being active like this since my last blog that didn't work out nearly as good as this one.
DeleteHello everyone, love the pictures Japan is one place I would love to visit only had the opportunity for a layover enroute to the Philippines once. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year!
