The Think Tank Thursday #91 Escape

Where do you go to escape life's drama? Perhaps an escape is a quiet place to reflect or listen to your inner voice. Maybe a walk, a daydream, or a good book is your way out. Writing is an escape we can all relate to. Do you write poetry to escape? When we dream we sometimes escape and sometimes we replay our day.

What does escape mean to you? When I grew up, I use to escape to the shore. The ebb n' flow of the tide lulled me. It was my place of peace, where I could be myself, reconnect with who I was.   Do you have such a place? I can't visit my childhood escape anymore, I don't live in that state, but I do have other escapes. Do you think we as poets use words to escape?  I would love you to pen a poem and share one of your favorite escapes.

"One travels to escape from it all, but that is the great illusion:  It cannot be done,
since one travels with one's mind."   ~Ella Maillart

"Anyone can escape into sleep, we are all geniuses when we dream, the butcher's,
the poet's equal there."  ~Emile M. Cioran

"All the best stories are but one story in reality-the story of escape. It is the only
thing which interest us all and at all times, how to escape." ~A.C. Benson

  5. My escape is to the water. The sea is my favourite, but living inland, I often have to be content with lakes and rivers.

  6. Lovely prompt. I haven't had time to write anything on this yet, but I did link an escape limerick I wrote last year. Hope that's okay. :) And I just discovered another of my old escape limericks: Dear Prattlers. Thanks.
