Poets United Midweek Motif ~ Heart

Midweek Motif ~ Heart

What's in your heart?  What does a heart say?  Have a heart.
My heart is in your eyes.  Their hearts are in their throats.  Happy Valentine's Day.

  3. Since you let the motif slip last week I wrote this right away and have been waiting for today to come so I can put it up. I'm going to my first ever poetry open mic tonight. I'm intending to get up and present. That is if I can get up the nerve. Anyway the reason I bring this up is because I practiced reading this in preparation and found myself choking on the last line. I guess your own poetry means the most to yourself. Snowflake took the perfect photo for this too . . . I hope you all like it.

    1. Perfection! Have fun at the reading. Your listeners will love this poem. Read it slow; make it last. Where is the reading?

    2. The open mic (every wed at 8 pm) is at Pauly's Hotel, 337 Central Ave, Albany NY (I don't know what it's like because I've never been there before.)

    3. Hey! It'll be great. Just enjoy the other poets and they'll enjoy you.
I lived up that way once: I earned an MA in theatre from SUNYA in 1985. Flew from there to Berkeley, CA and life took off too. Have a great week--stock up for the storm to come.

  4. Hi all! This looks like a pretty neat place. I hope you like the poem; it's a pretty good love poem, even if I do want to be a nun. I wrote it for American Greetings. Alas, they never accepted it...

  11. Susan,

A lovely poetry prompt this week and so timely too:)
I am pleased to have posted this, since with severe storms here at the moment, power cuts have already happened here in my town. Winter continues with such scary force.
I shall visit all other Blogs, as and when it is possible for me, between battening down the house!!
