Photos of Johnson Canyon - Alberta, Canada
by CC
Good Sunday again, Poets! Welcome to another Poetry Pantry.
Today we have CC to thank for the photos! She shared they were all taken while she was hiking near the lower and upper falls in Johnston Canyon in Alberta. What a wonderful hike that must have been! Beautiful, aren't they?
I am still asking others who post here to share their photos with me, as C.C. did today!

Tomorrow Sherry is doing an update with one of our very loyal participants -- Hank! I look forward to reading this & am sure many of you will enjoy reading it too!
Did you see Rosemary's Friday feature "The Living Dead?" This week she shared a wonderful poem by Hillaire Belloc called "The Winged Horse." Please take a look if you haven't. Rosemary puts so much research into her articles!
For Midweek Motif this week Sherry is prompting us to write about "the joy of poetry." And it IS a joy, isn't it? And good news as far as Susan is concerned. She is home now and recovering. We hope she will be back prompting in September. You might want to check her blog, as she IS writing!
If you have Facebook, do think about following Poets United on Facebook. That way you are informed of each new feature.

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to everyone ~
It is still very warm during day here too Grace. I am rather pink today after spending half of yesterday at the city youth football jamboree. I am def enjoying cooler mornings though.

ReplyDeleteI will have to wait.....until their joyful return....
Mary, today's images are glorious, particularly the waterfalls. I shall close my eyes and imagine the soothing sounds.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, everyone! ♥
Amazing photos. I linked a poem. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the photos. Johnston Canyon was a beautiful place to visit....the color of the water was spectacular and it was a lovely hike. Happy Sunday to all of you :-)
ReplyDeleteC.C., I am so sorry that I, at first, attributed your wonderful photos to someone whose screen name is similar to yours. I have now corrected it, but still...I am sorry.
DeleteNo worries at all, Mary. It happens :-) Thanks for hosting and for all the hard work you do here all the time!
DeleteThanks, CC!
DeleteC.C., such beautiful photos of a lovely spot. Wow. Mary, thank you for hosting, as always. I am late to the party as usual. It is a perfect late-summer day here, with a hint of fall in the wings. I am thankful to be moving away from the intense heat, as the ground everywhere is lifeless, brown and dead, and the trees are stressed. I hope this fall brings the rain everything needs. I will slowly make the rounds, and will eventually get to you all. I feel like Old Mother Turtle this morning.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope for rain for you too, Sherry. I am just watching news about the wildfires in the Pacific Northwest & know your area is affected by these fires too.
DeleteThank you for owning the pantry doors - apologies once more for not getting back to you..we of course appreciate your visits and comments thank you!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Jae Rose!!
DeleteWow, what a hectic summer! Thought it was time to write about my writing avoidance...
ReplyDeleteAh, some seasons are like that. Smiles.
DeleteOnce again I find myself "bringing up the rear" to use a very old idiom - and will check out posts today and tomorrow. Monday seems to be my "catch-up" day, of late. The rest of the week, I have a lot of visitors dropping by (mostly family - BIG FAMILY) which I love but: there goes the schedule.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I very much enjoyed today's photos - and also (I've been meaning to do this for a while) I wanted to make a point of thanking those of you (Mary, Sherry and so many others) who contribute so much to Poets United. It is a lovely thing. I'm sure a great deal of poetic inspiration would not see the light of day if all that work hadn't been put into maintaining such an inviting forum for poets. Your efforts are much appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words, Wendy! So glad to have such supportive poets as you.
DeleteLove the pictures, CC :) Especially that little squirrel! I'm headed out for a meeting and then I'll start making my rounds. Hope everyone has been enjoying their Sunday!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you again, Torie.
DeleteI miss everyone. Just woke from a very healing nap and wrote a tiny little thought. I'll try to make visits over the week. Recovery is proceeding nicely. Thank you for your notes and support!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your recovery is going well, Susan.
DeleteGreat pics! Love the little chipmunk guy:)
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics. I have shared my poem for the first time in this community and I am glad to be a part of it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in, Priya! I enjoyed your poem & also appreciate your reciprocity! Hope to see you again.
