Poetry Pantry #437




Good morning, poets! Here is Snowball to put a smile on your face this morning. We hope you are having a lovely weekend. If any of you have any scenic photos of your part of the world, and would like to share them with us, email  five or six to me at wildwomantwo@gmail.com, and we armchair travellers will enjoy the scenery. I always love seeing what  Planet Earth looks like in different places.

It was a good week at Poets United. I can't get over how quickly they go by! Did you see Rosemary's feature on Friday? It is one to scroll back for, if you haven't, as it features two of Mary Oliver's most beautiful poems: ".... about the world that is ours, or could be." They took my breath away.

This Monday, we are visiting with Vicki Rogers. Do stop by; we know you'll enjoy hearing about her life, and enjoying some of her  poetry and photos. On Wednesday, Sumana's prompt will be: Darkness Is...... That should bring some wonderful responses. So many directions to choose from.

Let's read some poetry with our morning coffee. Link your poem, and enjoy the sharing of the written word. It never gets old; it is always so meaningful. Thank you for being here every week. We appreciate you!

    Good morning everyone... a cold day with snow and sun here in Sweden... need to go out for a walk

      Ha, it is cold here too....but TOO cold for a walk unless one wants frostbite. Sigh.

    Good morning. I've just started the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch, which means an hour of sitting by windows and making a note of all the different birds that land in my garden. In the first minute, two blackbirds landed right outside the window! Would it be OK to link one more poem later this morning?

      Hi Kim - with Poetry Pantry we have always had the one-poem-per-person policy. One reason is to make it manageable for everyone to (hopefully) comment on others' links. For Midweek Motif one can share as many poems as one wishes.

    Thanks, Sherry, for hosting. And hello to everybody! We are just at the end of a hot weekend – or would be, but it's a long weekend for Australia Day. The weather is mad! I live in the sub-tropics, where this summer is not so extremely hot as the officially temperate parts of Australia.

      I do love it, but it has been unbearable for people in some other parts of the country, with excessively high temperatures.

    Good morning, everyone! It is a very, VERY cold day here. Brrrrrrrrrrr. And tomorrow we are under a blizzard warning. Grrrrrrrrrr. This has been a rough winter in these parts. Hope you are having a good weekend.
