"Who in their infinite wisdom decreed that Little League uniforms be white? Certainly not a mother. "
~Erma Bombeck
What is in a uniform? Typically it represents a person of authority, respect and or importance or service. There are so many people in uniform out there I can’t begin to imagine being able to list them all and tehy all do great things. You have your standard Military ones of course heroes no doubt and you have the cops that protect and serve but you can’t forget firefighters, the Maytag repairman, nurses and the list goes on and on. Is a clown in uniform, are plumbers issued their plumber's cracks (My best friend runs owns a plumbing comapany and I ask him taht all the time lol)? What people in uniform or service do you remember or think of first?
Whatever your pleasure write something that has to do with someone in uniform. Maybe as a child you wanted to reach for the stars and be an astronaut. Maybe you dreamed of being a knight in shining armor that too was a uniform. Whatever you decide your poem should be we can’t wait to see what adventure you take us on and what might inspire your words.
There 3 simple rules:
1. Don’t link to more than 3 poems per week.
2. Please visit some of the other poems linked here when you link to yours.
3. Leave a comment after you have posted your link.
Thanks for the inspiration. Here's my Orchestrating Haiku.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to ponder this one!
ReplyDeleteI have to give this one some thought. Madeleine - yours were both great. (I just can't post that on your page!)
ReplyDeleteThere are few upsides to the tired monk's uniform, but tis great for poems...eh?
ReplyDeleteGreat prompt!

ReplyDeleteNice prompt, I was going to write something new but then realized that I had something from a few weeks ago that fit nicely...at least I think that it does. Hope you all enjoy as much as I have enjoyed reading yours. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good prompt. Enjoy the read of "My Feet This Way That Way".
ReplyDeletewhat a great prompt to invite the muse with
ReplyDeleteMine isn't a "uniform" in the usual sense. It refers to the cliques of girls that all dress and act the same way-ugh. http://lolamousedroppings.blogspot.com/2011/03/ponytail-girl.html
ReplyDeletePoets United,
ReplyDeleteMy poetic effort, is with a slightly different view of a 'uniform'........

I hope my poems on this topic of uniforms don't offend anyone. I was kind of stuck on this prompt for a while but was suddenly inspired and came up with two that are together on my blog. My husband's military experience was not a particularly good time for me and was a reflection of those times I think.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute video! And here is my piece:
