Poetry Pantry #340

Hi Friends...Happy Sunday to you.  Sorry about the troubling photos today, but these are troubling times for me.  I am very sad about what is happening in this country.  We all have to resist.  And I hope those of you in other countries 'resist' in your own way to injustices and intolerances and fascism as well.  I will try to post beautiful photos next week...I promise.  If you have any beautiful photos you would like to share with our group, please let me know.

First of all, please scroll back to Rosemary's Friday feature -- "Thought Provokers."  She spent a lot of time presenting a pretty cool idea for us to play with.  Take a look, and feel free to jump in and add to the discussion.  Really, she would appreciate that.  Comments really go a long way to keep one's morale up, and (heaven knows) this is certainly important these days.

Monday, Sherry Blue Sky has a wonderful interview of poet D S Scott.  I think you will find the interview fascinating.  Do come back and have a look.

Wednesday Susan's prompt is LOVE.  Good one, as love trumps fear.  We all need to reflect on love a bit - especially because it is the day after Valentine's Day!!

With no further delay, let's share poetry.  Link your poem below.  Visit others who link.  See you on the trail.

  2. I extend all my sympathies to my American friends. I know that all of the Trump administration's excesses are being met with stiff resistance, and that itself gives me a lot of hope. It's great to see so many people coming out and taking a stand against all the wrong- doing that has been happening of late. So many people are fighting for what is right. So all the very best, my American friends! May your endeavours towards preserving America's ethos of openness prevail.

  9. These are troubling times...wait! I've said that before about our problems with this world. I think we will persevere. I am with Bjorn on this there are still surprises to be had. Good ones! Just hang on friends!

What disturbs me is the fact that we came so far just to mess up yet again! Trump is different but nothing special and I'm sure he's finding that out NOW.

I'll send you some pictures of the Bay Trail Mary I've had some really good ones lately. Sherry gave me your email sometime back and I think I still have it.

Have a good week everyone! Big hug!

  10. Love the photos - the pain and the promise! Tumultuous times that I try to think of as intense labor pains of a more perfect nation. Push!

  11. Good Evening Mary and all the great poets, still w/o wi-Fi or phone in the woods of Fla. I was able to persuade a person to use their "hot spot" to post my Sunday post and check my bank balance :) I think that is all I will be able to do for another week. Sorry if I do not get a chance to get around to reading all the creativity abounding in the Pantry. I do miss it. But, as soon as I get back I will begin my Sunday readings.
