Greetings, Poets! Hope you all have had a good week.
In the United States baseball season has gotten off to a good start. Every year I try to be a baseball fan like I was when I was a child, but every year I seem to fail. But I do certainly appreciate that baseball is many people's favorite spectator sport. Perhaps in your comment today you could tell us what your favorite spectator sport is.
This is one of my favorite spaces to post during the poetic week. I hope you look forward to it too. Link your ONE poem. If you are involved with NaPoWriMo, feel free to share one of your poems here. Then visit other poets. If you never visit other poets, eventually people will pass by your blog as well. And I will too. We ALL like comments, so if you link please DO spend time visiting others. That is part of the fun as well. We really like it if you link back to Poets United too, so we spread the Poetry Pantry word in the blogosphere.
Come back a few times on Sunday and Monday to see what's new. Visit some strangers, and they will become new friends! Making new friends and reading new poetry, what more could one want?
Also, don't forget to visit Poets United other days of the week. For example, every Wednesday Kim posts a new "Verse First" prompt. Hope you will join us there as well! Sherry Blue Sky does a feature (it varies) on Monday, and Rosemary Nissen-Wade does "I Wish I'd Written This" every Friday!

ReplyDeleteHi again, Happy April - participating in a Poem a Day challenge -challenge is the right word :-) and yes I did just go see a 6-8th grade musical - great seeing all the kids with their graceful awkwardness - latent potential and moments of greatness all revealed on a stage -

ReplyDeleteIn honor of National Poetry Month, I would have to say my favorite spectator sport is reading poetry. My link here today is a very personal illustration of what can come from what we as writers do by sharing our experiences. Natasha Head shared something last week that spoke to me and moved me to a life change. The link to her piece is in my poem if you'd like to see what she wrote. Her recorded version of it really hit me. Taking the risk to expose pain or struggle or victory is really the reason we are here I think, to inspire and possibly affect anyone who reads our words. The duty is in the honesty.

DeleteI entered my poem 'Saints' one of the few Catholic-themed poems I wrote AFTER I became a Catholic. (I wrote more when I was a Marxist Norse Pagan). If you visit my poem you will see an invitation to 'like' my blog's new Facebook page, and an invitation to share your own poem's link as a comment under a certain graphic. I will read all the linked poems there and will blog the most noteworthy one on my blog. (Since I have Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism, what I find noteworthy will be considered strange and frightening by normal people.) Anyway, I love the Poetry Pantry. Even though it doesn't have any mice in it. I love mice. Tasty.

Oh, poor Strip-tee. I am sure she feels bad that you are moving on. I think Strip - tee should have a place of honor somewhere on one of your shelves for her time well served. Smiles.
DeleteI'm afraid I'm not a sports fan at all. When to comes to spectator sport, my favourite thing would be never to see any. I'd rather be looking at art, and the poem I've linked to this time reflects that.

Our grandson was staying since Friday, which was an enjoyable, but busy time. It caused me to think of how quickly he is growing up and the movement of time and life:)
