Hope each one of you is enjoying a good weekend. Today we can enjoy photos by Totomai. His photos were taken of the Boracay Island, Philippines. This is one of the most popular beaches in Southeast Asia.
Totomai says, "I want to share these photos I took in 2007, before I got my DSLR camera. I was using my Casio Exilim point and shoot camera then. There was a point that I was enjoying the post-processing style called 'orton.' It's making the photos dream like. Some of the photos attached here are post-processed with orton."
Tomorrow Sherry Blue Sky has an interview with an Australian poet many of you who visit Midweek Motif will be familiar with. Please return on Monday to find out who.
And on Wednesday for Midweek Motif Susan will be prompting us to write a poem about Fathers, s Fathers Day is fast approaching here in the U.S.
And next Friday, of course, stop back for Rosemary's feature. Will it be "The Living Dead" or "I Wish I'd Written This"? Stop back and see. This week she featured the wonderful poem "The Nightingale" by Keats. Scroll back, and take a look.
With no further delay, hope that you will enjoy the Pantry today. Leave a short comment when you post; and be sure to visit the links of others. I will look forward to reading what you share.
Pictures are pure paradise. I have never seen a sky like that.

ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. And I look forward to reading what you all have written. I shared another older poem of mine since I am hoarding the new ones right now for submitting to a poetry magazine that says 'no previously published poems'. Hope you all are having a great Sunday. God bless.
ReplyDeleteSuch idyllic scenes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the Poetry Pantry with such unswerving efficiency, Mary. It is always a pleasure to visit and share.
I have a question, I'm not sure what we are supposed to share at the poetry pantry.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome to link one of your poems, old or new. It is an open link. We look forward to reading it. Smiles.
DeleteTotomai, what GLORIOUS photos! I especially love the one of the silhouetted temples. And the dreamlike quality of the orton shots. This morning smells like summer mornings did when I was a kid and I am breathing deeply and remembering those days when all dreams were possible...........looking forward to some poetic inspiration as I dive into the Pantry. Thank you, Mary, for hosting so faithfully.
ReplyDeletePhotos felt like a journey. Coincidentally, my poem today is the same.
ReplyDeleteTotomai - the ocean delights the senses with the smells, sounds and beautiful colors. How can we thank you for this gallery of beauty?
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday everyone. I think I am getting past some of the pain I've been in - you know you are in pain when opening up a computer is hard to endure. Hugs to all...
I've never heard of the post-processing style called orton, but it certainly does make the photos look dreamlike. Wow! Gorgeous. All of them are utterly stunning. Thank you for sharing them with us, Totomai.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone! Beautiful photos, totomai!! Thanks for sharing :) I'll be back to make my rounds in a few hours. Going to enjoy a bit of this beautiful Sunday. Hope everyone is enjoying their day :)
ReplyDeleteHi All,
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the Boracay photos. It is one of the most popular beaches in the Philippines. Or still the most popular beach in the Philippines. It is the same island as my hometown but going there takes forever. I would love to revisit it again someday.
Orton post-processing is somewhat obsolete already but it was really popular in 2008-2009.
Have a nice week ahead everyone.
Happy Sunday,
ReplyDeleteThese photos are beautiful. The first one speaks to me I want to write a poem about the castle.
Delightful photos! They make me want to visit that amazing place...
ReplyDeleteThose photos are gorgeous! They make me long for the ocean.
ReplyDeletemaybe a little melancholy but i think it's cathartic for me. my wife's just got back from visiting her elderly parents both in total assisted care and may soon depart. sixty five years married and in love. their souls may wish to travel together
