Good day, Poets!
I was going to share another set of Totomai's photos, but he told me that he will be in the Middle East this weekend and will not be able to participate. So I told him I would wait with his photos until next week. Meanwhile here is another set of Washington D.C. photos, which I hope you will also enjoy.
Tomorrow Sherry Blue Sky is featuring as blog of the week a blog by a prolific Indian poet who is fairly new to Poets United. Try to guess who she is, and stop over tomorrow to see if you are right!
And on Wednesday for Midweek Motif Susan is prompting us to write a poem about beginning summer or winter, as those of us in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres have now crossed that change-of-season line.
And next Friday, of course, stop back for Rosemary's feature. Will it be "The Living Dead" or "I Wish I'd Written This"? Come and see. But really I hope that you will take a look at her feature this past Thursday. She featured a stunning palindrome poem by Diane Castaglioni titled 'for Ornette' which really impressed me &, I think, deserves a wider read!
With no further delay, hope that you will enjoy the Pantry today. Leave a short comment when you post; and be sure to visit the links of others. I will look forward to reading what you share.
Happy Poetry Pantry to all! We have rains the whole day at my side of the world so the clouds are out of sight & nowhere to reach. Hope the weather improves tonight so I can go, hang out with some friends later. Smiles.
Good early morning to all from NY State where we are getting a steamy, wet Sunday and Father's Day...first day of summer officially with the solstice so I have another summer poem....will be around to sample all the wonderful words offered up today.
Love the photos Mary. I especially love the Lincoln Memorial....you certainly captured so many of the magnificent sights of DC.
Here is a long ago exercise posted in a new context. Happy Father's Day. Happy Solstice. Happy Day to Breathe and be Alive. I have two Meetings today--two meetings for worship. I'll be back this evening.
The solstice was clouded in London but wishing a happy day for druids and fathers everywhere...some poetry in those images especially the reflection. Joining in with a touch of alliterative paranoia - thank you
Happy Father's Day! Long day of summer, so hopefully I find more time to read along with my lessons and visits, but Monday - more Sunday for me. Thank you, Mary for hosting and nice photos! Happy Day to all!
It's been another long period away from Poets United for me. I love coming home. Lovely to see some old familiar faces; and many new ones. A happy Sunday to you all. :-)
Blessed Sunday, folks! Looking forward to reading some poems today. I've shared a weirder-than-usual one today but don't worry, there's an English translation.
Good morning, friends. Mother Nature has outdone herself, it is a perfect summer morning out there. When I was feeding the horses, I saw a wild bunny hop on by. Mary, I especially find the Viet Nam memorial moving.....and love the photo of the George Washington Memorial, as it makes me think of Forrest Gump!
I'll be spending time with hubby for Father's Day. But I'll make sure and catch up with all the wonderful poems. Thanks for your pictures of Washington DC. Hope you have a great week!
