The Thursday Think Tank - #30 Observation

Prompt and photo were provided to us by Larry Patterson

“A lot of my inspiration came from the kids. But then other things; like the news, everything is pretty inspiring these days.”

Observations: Attention to Detail

How often do we look beyond the surface? There is so much we miss out on in life at a quick glance; so much that we tend to never see or we do see but pay little attention to it later. For this prompt, it is all about paying close attention to detail. Take something: an old poem, image (including the image presented before you) or just go for a walk being the observer for some time, and form your poem out of your observations.
We look forward to seeing what you see.

If you have a prompt idea that you would like to suggest or share with us please send it to . We keep a folder set aside with all your suggestions and just might use it one day.

There 3 simple rules:

1. Don’t link to more than 3 poems per week.

2. Please visit some of the other poems linked here when you link to yours.

3. Leave a comment after you have posted your link.

  1. Felt pretty bad the day I wrote this one - feeling better today, but here are my observations.

  2. Today is the one year anniversary of my blog. Yay! I'll be back a bit later with a poem.

  3. Really sorry but i posted this poem last week by accident when the linky thing was playing up. I'm such a dumbass...

  4. Poets United,

My poem is based upon the importance of observation, during a real life or death experience.
    Difficult images......

  5. Here is mine for the think tank....

  6. This prompt made me think of this video:
My poem is sort of Eastern inspired, and based on my beginner-level understanding of meditation.

  7. My link is called Nocturne and just about the twilight as the night draws in, and takes over from the day!!

  8. I'm late to this party, but here I am. I look forward to reading everyone's work. It took me a while to decide. I had 3 ideas in mind, finally went with my first choice.
