Poetry Pantry #410

Kettle Moraine State Forest - Pike Lake - Wisconsin

Greetings, Friends.  Summer in Wisconsin is indeed oftentimes a beautiful season.  This week I was able to picnic and hike in one of our many state parks.  Just showing (above) a few photos of the lake and one of the trails. Such a setting gives me a feeling of much needed peacefulness.

Thanks to those of you who have participated in Poets United this week.  Susan's "Lady Liberty" prompt was certainly an apt one.  This next Wednesday Sumana is prompting us to write a poem about "city."

For I Wish I'd Written This, Rosemary shared some wonderful gems from tinywords - a site that shares haiku and other short poetry.  It is amazing how much depth there can be in a very short poem.   Check it out, if you haven't.

Monday Sherry will be featuring a blog of the week - this time by a very active poet and one you are all familiar with.

Now, with no further delay, let's share some poetry.  Link your one poem below.  Stop in and say hello.  And visit the links of other poets who have shared.  Looking forward to seeing YOU on the trail.

  1. Yes, that certainly looks like a lovely summer, judging by those beautiful photos. Peaceful indeed!

We're deep in winter here, but so far a fairly mild one where I am ... most of the time.

  2. It has been a deadly summer, so far, in Toronto. As people are calling it another summer of gun. Last week, 50+ people have died, as result of the heatwave in southern Quebec. Mercifully, Toronto was spared this fate.

This week, I am posting something different for me. Just so everyone knows, not all of my poetry is totally dark and angst filled.

  7. It is a beautiful sunny Sunday here on the west coast. A perfect morning: sunshine, hummingbirds, fresh morning air and....poetry! I am a happy girl! Mary, that looks like a very beautiful spot. Good for restoring the soul in troubled times.
