Glad to see each of you here this week. Hope you each had a poetic week & also will share one of your poems here. The picture above is that of a peacock. I took it when we visited the zoo this past week. I think it is mating season, as a peahen was frolicking just out of sight!!
Come back a few times on Sunday and Monday to see what's new. Visit some strangers, and they will become new friends! Making new friends and reading new poetry, what more could one want?
Also, don't forget to visit Poets United other days of the week. For example, every Wednesday Kim posts a new "Verse First" prompt. Hope you will join us there as well! Sherry Blue Sky does a feature (it varies) on Monday, and Rosemary Nissen-Wade does "I Wish I'd Written This" every Friday!
If you are on Facebook, look for us there as well. Join our site. It is one more way to stay in touch!
And now...here is the procedure, for those who are new here: Each Sunday we start a new post with a New Mr. Linky for you. This is so that you can post a link to a poem in your blog. The link will close Monday at 12:00 p.m. (CDT), but you can still visit the links of those who have posted them.
great to be hereReplyDelete
Happy Sunday. And a happy June. Its raining like never before here. Quite cold and poetic. :)ReplyDelete
Ha, I know you are in a different country than I am......but this sounds like OUR weather here in Midwest USA. Cold for June indeed here....brrrrDelete
Europe is cold and rainy as well..no signs of summer so far. :)Delete

We should support each other....by visiting each other's link....thanks..ReplyDelete
Anand ...rain down there in South, but no respite ere in north..
Its going to take more time for rains there, I believe. Here its been raining almost continuously for 3 days. Roads are more like ponds. Last monsoon we had boat service through roads, literally!Delete
..hello.. i am sharing a piece i just wrote a while ago & still in rough draft... it's my first time to participate in poetry pantry though i've been writing in some segments of verse first by Kim... i will come back to read a little later... smiles...ReplyDelete
I'll be back later to read poems!ReplyDelete
Hi Mary, I think you will find I do visit and comment on most of the links.ReplyDelete
Great, JC. Glad to hear that. I know you had not commented on mine for a few weeks. Smiles. And when I make the rounds through people's submissions there are some people who I seldom, or never, see. And after a while morale goes down for those who are reciprocal. And this is not a good thing...so....I would like to change that.Delete
i feel you mary...having run my own places for years, it is the same most anywhere you go...its like the old 80/20 rule...though usually its closer to 30/70 in blogworld i have found...its about the norm...and i think it comes from the culture in the world in general reflected...Delete
you do so much ad give so freely of your time mary...know i appreciate it no matter the venue...and the efforts to try to change it...just dont want you to get eat up by it in the process...its not an easy labor...
So very happy to have found this blog, all this talent!Delete
smiles...happy sunday mary...about to get washed up and will be back to read...ReplyDelete
Beautiful picture. The peacock is such a majestic bird.ReplyDelete

Oh it is a feast in here this morning! I will get around to you even if it takes a while, as I have a four year old to amuse today and we are going out into the sunshine. I posted one I had forgotten about but rather like - the post is a bit long, sorry about that. I was on a roll! Mary, thanks for hosting the pantry every week. It's my fave feature, too.ReplyDelete
The peacock is so beautiful and so loud, I remember them down in Florida when we took the kids to Disney - we camped and they always made us aware of their presence! :)ReplyDelete
Hello everyone....this one was written just after midnight, this morning......Cheers!ReplyDelete
I have been in my garden today catching up on lots of planting, which is late because of the poor spring weather. Today was a pleasant day and so, my garden had first preference with my time...Now though it is time to post my new poem for The Sunday Pantry...Influenced by constant headline grabbing stories!!
Best wishes for a good new month and week,
I shall visit Blogs and comment over the next few days...Thank you to those who kindly visit me:)
Gorgeous peacock Mary, I'm lining a bit of a political society rant because I'm thinking about how powerful or words can be. I how you enjoy. Off to visit all the wonderful words you've all writteb nowReplyDelete
OMG. I see now that I re-posted this only a month ago. So sorry, kids. See? NO short term memory. At. All. And a long poem to boot. Sigh. Just back from a very tiring birthday party for little kids.....trying to get around to read and comment now.........ReplyDelete
That's a pretty awesome peacock photo. I've seen them before, but never with such a beautiful fan of their feathers.ReplyDelete
Yesterday was the birthday publication of my new book Pause, Traveler from Red Hen Press... more ruminations about the poetry life at www.beingpoetry.netReplyDelete

Gorgeous fellow, I don't blame him for strutting his feathers! I'll be back on Monday to comment!ReplyDelete
Peacocks amaze me, they are such a miracle for color and physics-the way the feathers are all arranged and supported. Beautiful :-)ReplyDelete
