Poetry Pantry #276
Well, it is the first day of November here. Halloween has passed. Daylight Savings Time has ended. Sigh. I am always a bit mournful when we are back on Standard Time again, heading into the long winter. But never mind that, it is the time for pumpkins, apple cider and apple pie, the first fire in the fireplace, football, and writing poetry! So good to be here with you today.
First of all, if you haven't read Rosemary's Friday feature Moonlight Musings which she published two days ago, run (don't walk) back to the article and give it a read. Rosemary has given this article so much thought that I hope it gains a wide audience. Her subject is "Poetry is Theft." I do hope this topic whets your appetite and that you will have a look, leave a comment sharing your thoughts on the subject.
Monday Sherry has another Blog of the Week scheduled...a blog of someone who posts regularly here at Poetry Pantry. You won't want to miss it.
Wednesday Susan's topic is Tranquility. I think we all need a bit of tranquility as the season changes, as the temperature cools (or warms), as the holidays with their hustle and bustle approach. Breathe in, breathe out, and get a head start on your poem.
Always looking for photos for Poetry Pantry from participants. Get in touch with me if you have some to share.
With no further delay, let's share poetry. Post your link in Mr. Linky. Make a comment of greeting. And begin your journey of visiting others & enjoying what all have to share today. Have a good week, everyone.

ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday, everyone - I will look forward to reading everyone's poems later today. I can't believe it's November!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Friends! We had a VERY rainy Halloween yesterday, so only the most hardy kids (and parents) went trick-or-treating. But today we look forward to SUN. Looking forward to reading what you share today!
ReplyDeleteNovember is wonderful as we move through autumn and toward Thanksgiving here in the US. Love the changes I am seeing in the garden as it is warm here for November....wishing all a fabulous Sunday and can't wait to get around to everyone reading your wonderful poetry.
ReplyDeleteOh and Mary, I don't like the early darkness now with the change to Standard Time...
Ha, I don't like it either!
DeleteGood Sunday every one
ReplyDeletemuch love...
I woke at 9! Which was 10! I guess I needed the extra hour. My poem is kind of an answer to all the Halloween lovers--it is at least another voice. It used to be my favorite holiday, but then Hell nights and hurt children changed my relationship to the holiday, and pranks from unhappy students made me worry for my property. I'd love to have that holiday back to love. And this town I live in is so relatively gentle and neighborly, it just might heal me back into trust and company over time.
ReplyDeletegood day, everyone!
ReplyDeleteit's almost midnight here, will be back to read later. :)
Hi kids, I am back and happy as a pumpkin myself after a huge indrawn breath of sheer beauty at the shore. Sigh. Gorgeous scenery all the way through the mountain pass as well, it was wild nature at its most breathtaking. I will post photos later on. Am looking forward to the Pantry this morning!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon... starting late and hope the pantry still has left me treats vs tricks :-)
