“One of the greatest sounds of them all - and to me it is a sound - is utter, complete silence”
~ Andre Kostelanetz
Sound is inspiration. A noise can incite so many different thoughts or feelings for a person. Take this week’s prompt and write about sound. Maybe the first sound you hear after you read this will be enough. Maybe you will look for something you deem a truly unique sound. The topic is wide and immeasurable and we look forward to reading your poems and hearing the sounds you describe in our heads. I wonder if you just heard the starter’s pistol I just fired…and they’re off!
Thanks for the prompt, Robert. I'll be back to read poems as they magically appear!
ReplyDeleteGreat prompt! Can't wait to read everyone's responses!

This is an older post on my blog but I think it has the right response to the prompt.
ReplyDeleteMy post (written in May) is more prose than poem. I feel it describes a unique sound, perhaps one that few others will think or write about, thus my submission.
ReplyDeleteMy poem was originally written as lyrics to a song.
ReplyDeleteYour words can affect someone more than you know... be careful how you choose them.

Ive enjoyed reading everyones poems and will check out the ones I have missed shortly. Thank you everyone for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteRobert,
ReplyDeleteI just about made it....and number thirteen as well!!
I needed a few quiet moments, to compose this 'silent' offering.
It is associated with all the stresses and emotions around the subject of communication, or the lack of it.
Best wishes,
Eileen
I had fun with this one...I don't have a computer at home...so I have to do what I can when I can...Thank you Robert for another great prompt!
