Deadly Butterfly Betrayal - Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “One must be an inventor to read well. There is then creative reading as well as creative writing.” I think there is now a third part to his theories after visiting the blog Deadly Butterfly Betrayal hosted by Riika Infinityy and that would be creative blogging. If you have not had the opportunity to visit Riika’s blog then you are in for a real treat when you do stop by. Her blend of poetry, computer graphics art and music makes this a wonderful place to get lost in. Her musical playlist that accompanies her art and prose is a near perfect blending of sound and heart.
Deadly Butterfly Betrayal is a blog overflowing with passion and creativity. Riika’s poetry is sensual, fantasy filled and dark all at the same time. She has a Poe like quality in the sense she is not afraid to delve into the macabre. An example of this is her poem “Suicide Letter.” Riika approaches the topic of suicide with words that are passionate and yet so full of despair. You can feel the pain and desire of her poems character. It is a dark romantic read that will have you reading it more than once.
Riika has taken her many talents and brought them together to share with us. Her poetry escorts its readers into some of the darker realms of life while maintaining that fresh and tempting appeal. Although not all of her writing is dark, it is those poems that seem to call to her readers. If you are willing to let your imagination wander and don’t mind allowing a little passion for the dangerous to creep into your world then Deadly Butterfly Betrayal is a must for you. I dare you to visit.
